That Trump Anti-Weaponization Fund? Yeah, It’s Not Happening.
- What’s Inside: Find out why a big Trump fund is a no-go.
- What lawmakers are saying.
- Our thoughts on the whole thing!
We just heard some news, and it’s kind of a big deal. Remember that $1.8 billion fund that was supposed to be set up because of a lawsuit Trump had with the IRS? Well, it looks like that whole plan has been shelved. Poof. Gone.
The acting Attorney General, Todd Blanche, basically told lawmakers that the idea is “not moving forward.” And honestly, we get it. A lot of people on both sides of the political aisle weren’t exactly thrilled about the possibility of sending money to folks who were involved in that whole January 6th situation at the Capitol. The vibe around that idea was just… off. Not a good aesthetic, you know?
It’s the kind of news that makes you think. Sometimes, when ideas are put out there, they just don’t have the right energy to make them happen. Especially when they might not feel fair to everyone.
Our Take
As artists, we’re always thinking about what looks right and what feels right. And this whole fund? It just didn’t have a good feel to it. We’re glad to see common sense prevailing here. It’s like starting a painting with a color that just doesn’t fit the rest of the canvas. You have to step back and say, “Nope, this isn’t going to work.”
We’ve seen other interesting things in the news lately, like that ‘War Machine’ coming back to Netflix! And speaking of sad news, our hearts go out to the family of young racer Samuel Ortiz. Oh, and we also saw that the RuPaul film is definitely NOT using AI, which is a relief!
