The incredible Naomi Watts is about to get a super prestigious award. It’s called the Donostia Award. The San Sebastián Film Festival is giving it to her. What an honor!
This big deal happens during their 74th festival in September. We hear she’ll pick it up on Saturday, September 19. Can you imagine the scene? The lights, the atmosphere!
She’s not alone in getting this special recognition. Legendary German director Werner Herzog also received the Donostia Award. His was announced earlier in August. That’s some pretty cool company to be in, wouldn’t you say? The whole event has this timeless, rich cinematic aesthetic.
But wait, there’s more! Watts will also screen a new movie. It’s called “The Housewife.” This is the first time Canadian Ben Shirinian is directing a feature film. A debut! We love seeing fresh talent.
It makes us think about other big festival moments. Like when animation legend Rintaro made his grand return to Busan. Film festivals are truly magical places for artists.
