Ben Affleck Says ‘Justice League’ Reshoots Were His Career’s ‘Low Point’ – And ‘So Gross’!
- Ben Affleck’s big confession about ‘Justice League.’
- Why those reshoots were a huge mess.
- The heartbreaking story behind the director swap.
- Our thoughts on what went down!
You won’t believe what Ben Affleck just revealed! We’re still reeling from his latest chat on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast.
He didn’t hold back. Affleck called the ‘Justice League’ reshoots the ‘low point of my career.’ Ouch. And ‘so gross,’ he added. It paints quite a visual, doesn’t it? Like a superhero movie gone wrong, losing its original cool, gritty vibe for something… else.
Remember when Warner Bros. stepped in? They famously replaced original director Zack Snyder. This happened after Snyder needed to pause due to a family tragedy. His daughter’s passing. So incredibly sad. What a tough spot for anyone, especially an artist with a big vision. Speaking of heartbreaking news, we recently shared about another sad loss: Big Brother Star Amber Siyavus Passes Away at 46. Our thoughts are with everyone going through tough times. Even with such serious stuff, there’s always good news brewing! Like Moana Star & Deacon Phillippe Headed to Disney+’s ‘Spaceship Earth’! And speaking of smiles and resilience, did you catch Nushrratt Bharuccha’s Hospital Smile and a Dose of ‘Gerua’ Magic?
Joss Whedon then stepped in to overhaul the movie. It created a totally different feel. A jarring shift, perhaps, in the film’s aesthetic. Snyder later shared his estimates on how much of his original work was left. Not much, it seems.
The story of what happened behind the scenes of ‘Justice League’ is still sparking conversations. Is there a right way to handle these situations? We think not always. But we can learn from them. The contrast in styles between Snyder and Whedon truly changed the entire look and feel of the movie, making it a very different beast.
Our Take
We feel for Ben here. Imagine pouring your heart into a project, only for it to be completely changed. It’s like an artist’s canvas being repainted by someone else. The whole situation around Zack Snyder was truly tragic. Losing a child is unimaginable. And then to have your artistic vision taken over? It just… hurts. We hope studios learn from this. Respect for creators, and empathy for humans, always comes first.
