Okay, movie lovers, gather ’round! We just got some exciting news that’s making our film-loving hearts do a little dance. Aamir Khan, yes, *the* Aamir Khan, is about to pick up a super cool Screen Icon Award!
This big honor is happening at the 37th Singapore International Film Festival. So deserved, right? We’re talking about a true legend.
And get this! The festival is also doing a special 25th-anniversary screening of his classic, ‘Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India’. Director Ashutosh Gowariker will even be there!
Can you imagine seeing that epic film again on the big screen? All those sweeping shots and the vibrant, sun-baked aesthetic of the cricket field, bringing back all the feels. What a treat!
The festival itself is kicking off with a South Korean thriller. It’s called ‘The Assassin(s),’ directed by Hur Jin-ho. Sounds like an intense start to things!
Speaking of big names in film, Robert Pattinson had some pretty interesting thoughts about his Batman role and the new DC Universe recently. Always something brewing in the movie world!
It’s cool to see such a mix of cinema styles, from Indian classics to fresh Korean thrillers, all in one spot.
Our Take
We are absolutely thrilled for Aamir Khan. This award is a perfect fit for someone who has given us so many unforgettable stories and performances. And getting to see ‘Lagaan’ again? That’s just the cherry on top. It’s a fantastic way to celebrate cinema from around the globe!
