We just saw some awesome news from WGA East! They’ve announced the grads from their 2026 Support Staff Basic Training program. How cool is that?
This isn’t just any training. It’s a virtual bootcamp. The goal is to help new writers who might not have had a chance before. Especially those from underrepresented groups. We love seeing opportunities open up!
Think of it as a stepping stone. Into writing support roles in television. There are two paths you can take. One is for writers’ assistants. The other is for script coordinators. This program is giving folks the tools they need to succeed. The whole vibe feels really supportive. Like a fresh start with a bright, clean aesthetic.
Our Take
We think this is fantastic! Giving new writers a leg up is so important. It helps bring more diverse voices and stories to our screens. We’re excited to see what these graduates do next!
