Patricio Valladares looking intense, with a dark, fiery background evoking the depths of hell.
  • Get ready for a wild ride to the Underworld.
  • A famous poem is getting a super scary makeover.
  • Filming starts soon in a very cool place!

We just heard some news that has our spooky senses tingling! Remember Dante’s “Inferno”? That epic poem about, well, Hell?

Guess what? It’s getting a fantasy-horror movie reimagining! And we are SO here for it.

The director? None other than Patricio Valladares. He’s the Chilean filmmaker who gave us the super creepy found-footage horror “Invoking Yell” in 2023. So, he knows his scares.

Imagine the raw, gritty vibe of found-footage, but applied to the descent into the nine circles of Hell! This is going to be visually intense. We can almost see the dark, fiery aesthetic already.

This new movie, called “The Divine Comedy,” is set to start filming in Rome this September. Yes, Rome! So much history, so much potential for ancient dread.

Italian film company Anxur Films is producing it. They’re teaming up with Ireland’s Skincrawl Studios. Skincrawl is also handling all the international sales, so hopefully, it will be easy to watch everywhere!

We’re already imagining the monsters and the terrifying places. This isn’t just a classic story; it’s a chance to see pure nightmare fuel on screen. Speaking of scary, Robert De Niro’s new thriller sounds seriously spooky too!

Our Take

Okay, we are beyond excited for this. Patricio Valladares has a knack for making things feel real and unsettling. Taking on Dante’s “Inferno” is a HUGE task, but with a fantasy-horror spin? It sounds like a match made… well, in the underworld!

We’re hoping for something truly original and terrifying. Fingers crossed for some truly memorable visuals that will haunt our dreams!
