  • What’s Inside:
  • A scary moment on TikTok.
  • Why it took so long to stop.
  • What TikTok is saying now.

We just saw some really unsettling news about a TikTok livestream. Perez Hilton was on, and things took a turn for the worse. Viewers were really disturbed.

Some people watching even called the police because they were so worried. It looked like he was hurting himself. That’s not okay. It’s the kind of imagery that makes you want to look away, a really dark aesthetic we wouldn’t wish on anyone.

What’s even more concerning is that the stream stayed up for a good 15 to 20 minutes. That’s a long time, especially when the content is so upsetting and breaks TikTok’s own rules.

Now, TikTok is explaining why it took so long. A spokesperson told reporters it was a “moderator error.” Basically, the system messed up and didn’t stop it right away.

Our Take

This is a tough one. We’re glad Perez’s family says he’s getting help. But it also makes us think about how these platforms handle really sensitive, harmful content. A glitch shouldn’t let something so distressing play out for so long. We hope TikTok learns from this and makes their moderation even better.
