Whoa! ‘Other Mommy’ Spooks Its Way to Number One, Just Barely!
- It was a super close race for the top movie spot!
- "Other Mommy" snagged number one.
- "Verity" followed just behind.
You won’t believe what just happened at the U.K. and Ireland box office! It was a total nail-biter. We’re talking photo finish levels of close!
Universal’s new horror movie, "Other Mommy," just squeezed into the top spot. It was directed by Rob Savage, and stars the amazing Jessica Chastain and Jay Duplass. Talk about a seriously creepy vibe!
This spooky flick raked in an impressive £1.97 million (that’s about $2.66 million!) on its opening weekend. Can you imagine the tense atmosphere in those cinemas? The whole visual style of a good horror film really draws you in, doesn’t it?
But get this: it only *just* beat out Sony’s psychological thriller, "Verity." "Verity" had to settle for second place, but it was practically a tie! So close. It makes you wonder how the audiences felt watching those intense scenes!
It reminds us of other big entertainment moments. Like when Aamrapali Dubey dished out the gossip on Bigg Boss (spill the tea with us!) or the buzz around Grey’s Anatomy’s prime-time spots. (Remember those days?)
Our Take
Honestly, we love seeing a good old-fashioned box office showdown! It’s wild how two completely different types of movies – pure horror and a psychological thriller – can go head-to-head like this. It really shows how much people love a good scare or a mind-bending story. Which one would you have picked to win?
