- Fire grew from 1 to 35 acres in an hour
We just saw some alarming news coming out of Malibu. A fire kicked off today near Calamigos Ranch and it’s spreading fast. Really fast.
The flames are being pushed by the wind. In just about 15 minutes, it jumped from one acre to five. Then, within an hour, it was already around 35 acres. That’s a lot of land going up in smoke.
There are spot fires too, popping up as the wind whips the flames around. Because of this, an evacuation order has been issued. We’re hoping everyone stays safe and follows all the instructions.
It’s such a stark, almost dramatic visual when nature gets wild like this. The orange and red against the sky, the smoke plumes… it has a powerful, almost terrifying aesthetic.
