Whew! Kennedy Center Stays the Kennedy Center (and Stays Open!)
- What’s Inside:
- No Trump Tower at the Kennedy Center.
- Good news for art lovers!
- A judge says ‘Nope!’ to big changes.
We just saw some news that made us breathe a sigh of relief! Remember those wild plans to rename the Kennedy Center after Donald Trump? Yeah, that’s a big no-go.
A federal judge stepped in and said, nope. Only Congress can make a call like that. And honestly, we love the vibe of the Kennedy Center just the way it is. It’s got this amazing, colorful aesthetic that just screams ‘arts for everyone’.
And guess what else? The plan to shut down the whole place for two years for renovations? Blocked! Can you imagine? The thought of that grand building being dark for so long was just… not it. Thankfully, we don’t have to.
So, the Kennedy Center will keep its name and stay open for us to enjoy all the amazing performances. Phew!
Our Take
We’re so glad this is settled. The Kennedy Center is a national treasure, and keeping its name and its doors open feels right. Art should be accessible, not stuck in renovation limbo or renamed by a board. It’s a win for culture, for artists, and for all of us who love a good show.
