Wait, No More Power Rangers on Disney+?

We just saw some news that’s going to bum out a lot of you. Disney+ is not moving forward with that live-action Power Rangers series they had in the works. Yep, the one that was supposed to bring back the iconic heroes.
This project had some big names attached. Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz, who worked on the Percy Jackson show, were writing and producing it. It was set up at Disney+ about a year and a half ago, with 20th Television as the studio.
We were kind of picturing a really cool, maybe slightly darker aesthetic for this new show. You know, with those vibrant colors we associate with Power Rangers, but maybe with a more modern, cinematic vibe. It’s a bummer it won’t get to happen.
Our Take
Honestly, we’re pretty disappointed. We thought this could have been something really special, a fresh take on a beloved franchise. It feels like a missed opportunity to bring the Power Rangers back to a new generation in a big way. We hope another platform picks it up, or they rethink this decision!
