Wait, Big Brother Star Almost Made it into a DC Movie?!
- What’s Inside:
- A Big Brother contestant’s surprise shoutout!
- A famous director’s cool connection.
- Why it all fell apart.
We just saw the wildest news about Big Brother! You know James Gunn, the guy behind all those awesome DC movies like Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad? Well, he’s apparently a huge fan of Big Brother.
This season, a contestant named Rick Devens was on the show. And get this, Rick totally name-dropped James Gunn on live TV! It was pretty cool, kind of a fun, unexpected vibe. We can only imagine how that looked on screen!
Turns out, Rick was supposed to have a tiny part, a cameo, in one of James Gunn’s upcoming movies, ‘Man of Tomorrow.’ Think of it as a little wink-wink to the fans! But then, BAM. CBS, the network that airs Big Brother, stepped in.
Because Rick was still competing on Big Brother, CBS apparently said no. They didn’t want their contestant showing up in a big Hollywood movie while he was still on their show. It makes sense, business-wise, but still, a bummer for Rick and James!
Our Take
We think it’s hilarious and also a little sad! Imagine being so close to being in a superhero movie, only to have your reality TV gig get in the way. It just shows how big of a deal both worlds are. We’re glad James Gunn and Rick still have that fun connection, though!
