Uh Oh! Danny Perkins’ Film Company Hit with Bad News
- What’s Inside:
- A film distribution company is closing its doors.
- The production side is still going strong, though!
We just saw some news that made us pause.
Elysian Film Group Distribution, the part of Danny Perkins’ UK film company that gets movies into theaters and onto screens, is actually going through something called an insolvency process. That’s a fancy way of saying it’s pretty much done for. It’s a bit of a bummer, honestly.
This distribution arm only started back in 2020, with some help from a big name, CAA. You know how sometimes you see a movie poster and it just has this really cool, almost moody aesthetic? It feels like that kind of potential just… faded out.
But here’s the good part! Danny Perkins’ main production company, also called Elysian Film Group, is totally fine. It’s still going to be making movies. So, it’s not a complete shutdown, which is definitely a relief.
Our Take
It’s always tough to see a company, especially one that helps bring art to people, face these kinds of challenges. We hope the production side of Elysian Film Group continues to shine and give us some amazing stories. The film world needs all the creativity it can get!
