SNL’s Weekend Update: From Cornell Drama to Glee Vibes!
- Michael Che gets real on SNL.
- Cornell’s serious situation.
- Glee is making a comeback!
- Our thoughts on the mix.
We just saw Michael Che tackle some big news on SNL’s Weekend Update. Talk about a roller coaster of emotions!
First up, some serious chatter. Che didn’t shy away from the ongoing situation at Cornell University. He spoke about a really tough sexual assault case there. The whole vibe was somber. Heavy stuff.
But then, a quick switch! He moved right into the news that Ryan Murphy is bringing back Glee. Remember the original? That show brought so much color and music to our screens. It’s like going from a dark, serious painting to a bright, pop art piece, visually speaking. What a contrast!
Che also threw in some playful jabs. Pete Hegseth, Kristi Noem, even President Donald Trump’s issues with CNN got a mention. SNL really does a great job of covering everything. From serious political talk to fun pop culture moments.
We love how Weekend Update mixes it all. It shows how comedy can make us think about serious things. And then give us a moment to smile. It’s a delicate balance. But they pull it off.
Our Take
We think SNL’s Weekend Update is pretty amazing. It’s not easy to go from talking about something as serious as the Cornell case to the fun news of Glee coming back. But Michael Che handles it with such a smooth style. It makes us think about all sides of the news. And that’s a good thing.
