Okay, so we just saw some super exciting news pop up on our screens. Remember those spooky R.L. Stine books from when we were kids? The ones that gave us just the right amount of shivers? Well, it looks like one of the most famous ones is making a comeback!
Tubi, that streaming service we all use for random movie nights, is getting its spook on again. They’re taking R.L. Stine’s ‘The Babysitter’ book series and turning it into a live-action movie. Yes, you read that right! We’re picturing a real vintage, maybe slightly grainy, horror movie vibe here, with all those classic 90s colors.
This isn’t Tubi’s first rodeo with Stine. They already did some ‘Pumpkinhead’ movies. This new ‘Babysitter’ flick is being directed by Trevor Calverley and written by Jem Garrard, who also worked on ‘Pumpkinhead’. Mark your calendars, folks, because it’s set to drop on Tubi in 2027. That’s still a little ways off, but hey, good things are worth waiting for, right?
Our Take
We’re totally here for this! ‘The Babysitter’ was such a classic, and we can’t wait to see how they bring that suspenseful, slightly unsettling feeling to the screen. Tubi has been surprising us with their choices lately, and this feels like a perfect fit for their growing collection of spooky content.
