Finally, some news about Rebel Wilson’s directorial debut! We just saw the first trailer for ‘The Deb’, and guess what? It’s really happening. You can watch it above!
The vibe is definitely bright and bubbly, full of musical fun. You can already feel the energy, maybe a lot of pinks and vibrant colors, very much a ‘debutante ball’ aesthetic but with a modern, rebellious kick.
It’s been a long, winding road to get here. Remember all those legal battles? Yeah, that’s what made this movie famous before we even saw a frame of it. It wasn’t exactly a fast ride to release.
But now, all that’s behind us. Sunrise Films just dropped the U.S. digital release date: August 25. UK folks get it a day earlier, on August 24, via Vertigo. So soon!

We think it’s awesome to see Rebel Wilson’s vision finally come to life. Directing is a big step! This trailer gives us a good feeling, and honestly, after all the talk, it’s nice to see the actual movie take center stage. Hopefully, it was worth the wait and the legal rollercoaster.
