You won’t believe what just happened in the Oscar race! We just got the hot scoop. Denmark has officially picked its champion for the Best International Feature Film category at the 99th Academy Awards.
And the winner is… May el-Toukhy’s ‘Woman Unknown’! Yes, you read that right. This film already snagged a Golden Lion. That’s a pretty big deal!
The movie sounds super intriguing. It’s a psychological drama set in post-World War II Denmark. Imagine the mood! Think muted tones, a slightly unsettling vibe, maybe a dash of vintage aesthetic. The visuals alone are probably a whole story.
It stars Mathilde Arcel as a young nanny and housemaid. She’s about to marry her wealthy, older boss. But wait. He’s a widower. And he’s totally haunted by something. We love a good mystery!
The story promises twists and turns. A quiet setting with big drama brewing under the surface. It definitely gives us chills just thinking about it.

It’s got that dark, captivating vibe that often grabs attention. This selection puts a spotlight on a potentially powerful story, and we’re totally here for it! It feels like a strong contender, don’t you think?
