Teyana Taylor, yes, that Teyana Taylor, is making her big feature film debut. As a director! We are so here for it.
Her movie is called ‘Get Lite’. And it sounds like it’s going to be a total vibe. We can already picture the aesthetic.
We already knew our faves Storm Reid and NFL rookie-turned-actor Ceyair Wright were starring. Pretty cool, right?
But hold on. The cast just got EVEN BETTER. So much better. Leslie Odom, Jr. is joining!
You know him from ‘Hamilton’ and ‘One Night in Miami’. He’s a Tony winner and an Oscar nominee. So much talent in one human!
And guess who else? Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor! She was absolutely incredible in ‘King Richard’ and ‘Lucky’. Another Oscar nominee. This cast is getting seriously stacked.
Teyana herself is no stranger to awards, with a Golden Globe win and Oscar and Grammy nominations. She’s got a real eye for things.
We’re expecting something visually striking from her. Maybe a really bold, energetic color palette that just pops off the screen. It’s going to be fresh.
It reminds us of the excitement around other new directors making waves, like Marta Pozzan. She’s directing a dark comedy, and it sounds SO good! Seriously, check it out here!

We are so incredibly excited for Teyana taking the director’s chair. She has such a distinct artistic aesthetic, and we can only imagine the electric energy she’ll bring to ‘Get Lite’. This movie is going to be one to watch. Mark our words. Big things are coming!
