We just saw some super exciting news, and we had to tell you! Production has officially kicked off on a brand new comedy film called “Baile.” Yes, you read that right. Filming started this week!
This isn’t just any film, though. It’s a co-commission from BBC Gaeilge, the Irish-language arm of BBC Northern Ireland, and TG4, Ireland’s national Irish-language broadcaster. That means we’re getting something truly special and authentic.
Can you imagine the aesthetic? We’re picturing rolling green hills, cozy village vibes, and maybe a touch of that charming Irish wit. It’s going to look and feel amazing, we bet!
The movie stars the super talented Marion O’Dwyer and Hazel Doupe. Two incredible actresses bringing a new story to life. They’ll be following Bríghid, a fiercely independent woman. Sounds like our kind of hero!
Belfast-based Village Films is producing this one. They’re getting support from Northern Ireland Screen’s Irish Language Broadcast Fund too. It’s awesome to see such a strong push for unique stories.
This comedy drama is going to be a must-watch, we can feel it. Prepare for laughs and maybe even a few heartwarming moments. We’re already making space on our watch lists!
