- What’s Inside: A farewell to a brilliant filmmaker
- His amazing movies
- What we loved about his style
We just heard some really sad news. Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, a name many of us grew up with, has passed away. He was 95. He left us on October 3rd in Chennai after not feeling well for a while.
You might know him from movies like “Pushpaka Vimana” and “Michael Madana Kama Rajan.” And who could forget “Aditya 369”? These films weren’t just stories; they were experiences. They had this fun, almost magical vibe that just pulled you in.
He was a true artist. Rao made about 60 movies in different languages like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi. He could do it all – make you laugh until your sides hurt with comedies, take you to fantastical worlds, or tell epic mythological tales. His aesthetic was so vibrant, always bursting with color and life.
He even had a hand in “Mayabazar,” a classic from way back in 1957. And just this year, he released a musical called “Sing Geetham.” That’s a career spanning decades, touching so many hearts.
Our Take
