Morrissey’s Vegas Trip: Cancelled. Again. Seriously?
- Why Morrissey hit the brakes on Vegas.
- What happened to those tickets?
- Our take on this repeat performance.
We just heard some news, and honestly, we’re not shocked. Morrissey, the legend from The Smiths, was supposed to light up Las Vegas this month. But nope. Not happening.
All four of his planned shows at the Wynn Las Vegas’ Encore Theater? Poof. Gone. Ticket holders got the email, and just like that, August plans changed.
Morrissey has a track record for this, right? It almost feels like a part of his whole melancholic aesthetic. That classic Morrissey vibe, but maybe not quite what Vegas audiences signed up for.
The residency was set for August 14 to August 19. Now, it’s just… August. Empty stage. It makes you wonder what kind of behind-the-scenes drama goes into these decisions, almost like Olivia Wilde REALLY wanting you to see ‘The Invite’ on the big screen! So much effort, then plans change.
Speaking of big changes, did you catch what Yash said about Kiara Advani and ‘Toxic’? Sometimes things get shaken up, and it’s a whole new deal. Maybe Morrissey needs a fun day out like Michael B. Jordan and Raye had at Six Flags to cheer him up! Screams, coasters, pure fun. A different kind of vibe entirely.
Our Take
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Morrissey hit the brakes on shows. It’s almost become his signature move, in a way. You book tickets, you get excited, then… you check your email.
It’s a bummer for fans who were ready to see him live. We get it. But for a performer known for his introspective tunes, maybe the bright, flashy energy of Las Vegas just wasn’t the right canvas this time around.
