We just saw Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli chatting about Dancing With The Stars. You know, the show that’s been on forever? It’s hard to imagine it not being a thing now, right? But apparently, when it first started, NOBODY thought it would work!
They were talking to People magazine. It was at the Disney Upfront event. Julianne and Bruno remember everyone saying, “This is never gonna work.” Imagine that! All those glitzy costumes and dramatic dances almost never happened.
It makes you wonder about the vibe back then. Were people looking at the concept like it was too cheesy? Too much? It’s wild to think about this massive show starting with so much doubt. The aesthetic has definitely changed over the years!
