Okay, deep breaths, Whovians. We just got some exclusive news that’s going to make your sonic screwdrivers buzz! And we mean really buzz.
You won’t believe it. It looks like Jed Mercurio, the genius behind intense dramas like Line of Duty, is leading a pitch to take over Doctor Who! Yes, THAT Jed Mercurio. Could he be the one to guide the TARDIS into a whole new era?
The BBC is doing something super interesting. They’ve launched a kind of ‘bake-off’ process. Imagine TV producers putting forward their best ideas, almost like a cooking competition, but for sci-fi shows! Everyone wants a slice of that iconic pie.
But wait, there’s more! STV Studios has a big plan. They want to transport the TARDIS… to Scotland! Seriously. Imagine the Doctor and their companions running through the stunning Scottish Highlands. Think about the moody, dramatic colors of those landscapes – what an incredible aesthetic that would bring to the show! We are so here for that vibe.
This is all part of an effort to bring fresh energy to the beloved series. What kind of adventures would Jed Mercurio dream up? Would it be full of twists and turns, just like his other hits? We can only guess, but the thought alone has us hyped!
Speaking of more TV shows coming and big plans, remember when Skydance said more TV shows are coming? This feels like that same electric energy!
Our Take
Honestly? We are buzzing. Jed Mercurio taking on Doctor Who feels like a game-changer. His storytelling is just next level. And the idea of the TARDIS making Scotland its new home base? Pure genius. The visual possibilities alone are enough to get us excited. We can already picture epic scenes with a very Scottish backdrop. This could be the fresh start Doctor Who totally deserves. Bring on the regeneration!
