Okay, so we just heard something super cool! James McAvoy, you know, the guy who was Professor X? Well, he actually went to the Star Trek people and said, “Hey, can I play a young Jean-Luc Picard?” How amazing is that?
He even had a whole series idea, called ‘Mutiny On the Stargazer.’ Imagine that! The whole vibe would have been so different, maybe a bit darker, a bit more about the raw beginnings of a legend. We can totally see it.
Apparently, he almost made it happen! He said he “nearly made” this limited series. We’re so curious about what that would have looked like visually. Would it have had that classic Trek exploration feel, or something more gritty and dramatic?
Honestly, it sounds like a dream project for any actor who grew up loving these characters. We love when actors get passionate like this. It shows they truly care about the stories.
Our Take
We think it’s awesome that James McAvoy is such a fan that he pitched his own Star Trek series! It’s a bummer it didn’t happen, but it just shows how much he loves the character. We’d have loved to see his take on a younger Picard!
