Holy Moly! Cypriot Horror ‘Motherwitch’ Just Grabbed a HUGE North American Deal!
- A brand new spooky movie is coming!
- Where it’s heading first.
- Our thoughts on this chilling news.
Finally, some news about a genuinely spooky flick! We just heard that a Cypriot horror film called ‘Motherwitch’ is making big waves. Big waves!
This movie, fresh from Cyprus, has just sold its North American rights. An L.A.-based company, Dark Star Pictures, snapped them up. That’s a pretty big deal!
And guess what? This exciting acquisition happened right before the film even officially screens. It’s heading to the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival in Catalonia next week. Talk about a grand entrance!
The deal was put together by Arnaud Chevalier. He’s from Paris, and his company, B-Rated International Sales, got it done. Smooth work!
We’re already picturing the vibe. Imagine the sun-baked, ancient aesthetic of Cyprus meeting something truly terrifying. We’re thinking earthy tones mixed with stark, chilling visuals. Pure art school horror!
Speaking of cool international flicks, remember when we talked about that chilly Icelandic drama ‘Elma’? Well, ‘Motherwitch’ is from a warmer place, but it sounds just as intense. Very different flavors of thrills!
It’s always exciting to see unique stories from different parts of the world get noticed. Just like how much buzz there is around other big news, whether it’s about Elon Musk’s wild world or new movies hitting the scene.
And for those who love their thrills closer to home, don’t forget Awarapan 2 is hitting screens soon! Emraan Hashmi fans, get ready! So many movies, so little time!
Our Take
We are absolutely thrilled for ‘Motherwitch’. It’s fantastic to see a Cypriot film get this kind of international recognition. It shows that great stories, no matter where they come from, can find their audience. We can’t wait to see what kind of scares this one brings!
