- What’s Inside
- New filmmakers supported
- Exciting new projects
- A nod to young talent
We just saw some amazing news from Frameline! You know, the awesome people behind the San Francisco LGBTQ+ Film Festival. They’ve teamed up with the Colin Higgins Foundation to support some super talented young filmmakers. Seriously, we’re talking about storytellers 25 years old and younger!
This year’s grant winners are franny trinidad and Kelly Liu. They’re making a film called “Babaylan.” We can already imagine the vibrant visuals and powerful storytelling. Then there’s Edward Nguyen with “Sweat” (Mồ Hôi). And Matthew! We’re not sure what Matthew is working on yet, but we’re excited!
It’s so cool to see these young artists getting the chance to bring their unique visions to life. The whole vibe feels fresh and full of promise, like a splash of bright, bold color on a canvas. We love seeing new perspectives getting the spotlight they deserve.
Our Take
This is fantastic! Supporting young LGBTQ+ filmmakers is so important. It means more diverse stories will be told, and that’s always a win in our book. We can’t wait to see what these talented folks create!
