  • Tom Holland’s major movie jitters!
  • Why Christopher Nolan kept hitting “cut.”
  • The surprising truth behind IMAX cameras.

We just heard a story that will make you smile! Imagine being Tom Holland, fresh on the set of a Christopher Nolan film. Big deal, right?

Well, Tom recently spilled the beans to Fandango. He totally thought he was “s—ing the bed” on his very first day filming “The Odyssey.” Every time Nolan called “cut,” Tom’s heart must have sunk a little lower. He thought the director *hated* his performance.

Seriously. Picture that panic! You’re trying your best. Cuts keep coming. You start second-guessing every move, every line. Was it his acting? Was he not epic enough for a Nolan film? You know that distinct, grand visual aesthetic Nolan brings to the screen. Maybe Tom felt he wasn’t fitting that big picture.

Turns out, Tom was completely wrong! Nolan wasn’t mad at his acting at all. The director was calling cut because of the huge IMAX cameras they were using. “Working with the Imax cameras for the first time is an experience,” Holland said. Those things are intense!

So, those famous, sweeping Nolan shots? They come with their own set of rules. And lots of cuts, apparently! It’s a whole different vibe than your everyday camera setup. Makes you wonder what other behind-the-scenes secrets are out there for big budget films!

Our Take

Whew! What a relief! We’ve all been there, overthinking something and jumping to the worst conclusion. It’s totally understandable that Tom felt this way, especially with the pressure of a Christopher Nolan movie and those massive IMAX cameras. It just goes to show how much goes into creating that incredible cinematic experience.

We’re glad it was just a misunderstanding about the tech, not his talent! Want to dive deeper into Tom’s early movie woes? Check out our other story: Tom Holland Feared He Messed Up Big Time on His First Day with Christopher Nolan!
