The DeuxMoi HBO Show Is Officially Dead And We Are So Bummered Out
- Ryan O’Connell shares the sad update.
- The Anon Pls series is no longer happening at HBO Max.
- What this means for the gossip aesthetic we loved.
We just saw some news that totally ruined our morning coffee vibe. You know that DeuxMoi book, Anon Pls? The one everyone was obsessed with? Well, the TV show version is officially dead at HBO Max.
Screenwriter Ryan O’Connell shared the update on Watch What Happens Live. He told host Andy Cohen that the project just didn’t move forward. It’s over. Simple as that. No drama, just a dead end.
This really hurts our hearts. We were already dreaming of the visual style of this show. Think neon city lights, blurry phone screens, and dark, moody outfits. It had such a specific ‘cool girl’ aesthetic that would have looked amazing on screen.
If you need some better news to cheer you up, Tom Holland and Zendaya Just Stole the Show in Berlin. They always serve the best looks. It is almost enough to make us forget about this HBO mess.
We are also still recovering from other TV exits. Michelle Buteau Is Saying Goodbye To The Circle and we are honestly not okay. It feels like all our favorite screen moments are disappearing lately.
Maybe Ryan will find a new home for the story. Or maybe some secrets are better left as blind items on Instagram. For now, the dream of seeing those digital whispers turn into a big-budget show is gone.
Our Take
We are honestly so bummed. The book felt like a modern classic for internet culture. HBO usually picks the best projects, so seeing them pass feels like a huge mistake. We really wanted those late-night NYC shots! Hopefully, another streamer picks it up fast before the hype cools down.
