We just saw some interesting news about Tanishk Bagchi, the guy who made the super catchy “Saiyaara” song. Remember that track? It had such a cool, dreamy vibe, didn’t it? Like watching a vibrant Bollywood scene unfold.
Well, Tanishk is saying he’s still waiting to get paid Rs 8 lakh in royalties for that song. Ouch. He mentioned that whatever Yash Raj Films paid him upfront pretty much went into making the song itself. That means all the extra money, the royalties that artists usually get when their music is played a lot, still hasn’t landed in his account.
It’s a tough situation. Artists pour their hearts into their work, and when the money side of things gets complicated, it’s a real bummer. We always want to see the creators behind our favorite songs and movies get what they deserve.
