- Four exciting new documentary projects.
- Shining a light on women and gender-expansive filmmakers.
- Cannes Film Market is getting a boost of fresh stories.
We just saw some super cool news! The Cannes Docs Showcase is getting ready to unveil four brand-new documentary films. Seriously exciting stuff!
These aren’t just any films. They’re works-in-progress from the awesome Circle Doc Accelerator program. Imagine vibrant stories, perhaps with a touch of deep blues and earthy greens, reflecting the diverse narratives these creators bring to life.
This program is all about lifting up women and gender-expansive filmmakers. And guess what? This is their seventh year in a row showing up at the Cannes Film Market. Talk about consistency!
We hear two of the films are “Amazonas” and “Intimate Revolutions.” “Amazonas” comes from Spain, Ecuador, and Germany, directed by the talented Clara López Rubio. And “Intimate Revolutions” spans the U.S. and U.K. Global stories!
It’s a big deal. These filmmakers get to share their visions on a huge stage. Cannes is where eyes from all over the world are watching. A massive opportunity to connect with audiences and industry pros.
Big dreams. Big screens. We love to see it!
Our Take
Honestly, we think this is fantastic. The Circle Doc Accelerator is doing incredible work by empowering diverse voices. Showing these films at Cannes isn’t just a screening; it’s a powerful statement. It tells the world that these stories matter. These unique perspectives are exactly what we need more of in cinema. More art, more voices, always!
