Can You Handle This? Bradley Whitford And Tom Blyth Hit Broadway
- The return of a classic Sorkin play.
- Tom Blyth and Bradley Whitford take the stage.
- Why the most famous line felt a bit fast.
We just saw the first reactions to the new Broadway revival of A Few Good Men. It is a legendary story. Everyone knows the courtroom drama. Now, Bradley Whitford and Tom Blyth are bringing it back to life.
The visual style of the show is very sharp. The aesthetic is all about clean lines and stiff military uniforms. It feels cold and serious. Very moody. We love the way the stage looks under the bright lights.
But there is a catch. Everyone waits for that one big line. You know the one. “You can’t handle the truth!” In this version, it feels a bit rushed. Almost like they wanted to get it over with. It was surprising.
Fast. Bold. A little bit strange. We expected a huge pause for effect. Instead, it was tossed off quickly. It makes the scene feel very different from the movie we all remember.
Speaking of big stars and big moments, did you see that Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt had their first Karwa Chauth together? It was so sweet! It’s a much happier vibe than a military trial.
Broadway can be a tough grind. It reminds us of these celebs who just left ‘Special Forces’. Sometimes the pressure is just too much. If you want something a bit more fun for the season, check out Hetty’s ghostly Halloween story.
Our Take
We think Tom Blyth has amazing energy. He is a rising star for a reason. However, we wish the play took a breath during the big moments. You can’t rush the truth! It’s still a must-watch for the acting alone.
