Finally, some news about one of our absolute favorite filmmakers! We just heard that Richard Linklater is about to be celebrated in a massive way. Seriously big news!
He’s heading to the Zurich Film Festival! There, he’ll snag the Career Achievement Award. And get this: a Golden Eye! That’s a trophy. A golden one, obviously. Imagine that gleam!
He’ll be there in person. September 28th. At the Filmpodium Zürich. The festival folks called him ‘one of the most influential auteur filmmakers.’ And we totally agree. His movies just have this amazing, real-life flow to them. A very natural aesthetic.
Think about films like Dazed and Confused or the Before Sunrise series. Or even Boyhood, which was filmed over years! His work just sticks with you. It feels honest. He really captures life’s messy, beautiful moments.
