- Our thoughts on the magic!
Finally, some news about something truly exciting, and it’s HUGE! Comcast NBCUniversal is bringing the magic. Yep, they’re building a brand-new Universal theme park. In the UK!
This isn’t just a rumor. The UK’s Culture, Media & Sport department officially spilled the beans. It’s called the Universal United Kingdom Resort. And it’s going to be in Bedfordshire. Imagine the road trips!
Talk about a big investment. £6 billion, which is over $8 billion! That’s a lot of cash for rollercoasters and movie magic. We can almost picture the vibrant colors, the detailed themed lands, and that classic Universal aesthetic already. It’s going to be a feast for the eyes!
Construction starts soon. But you’ll have to be patient. It’s expected to finish by 2031. They’re hoping to welcome 8.5 million visitors every single year. Wow.
Brian Roberts, the big boss at Comcast, called this a “special moment.” We get it. This is a massive leap for Universal, their first park in Europe. Think about the vibe – pure joy, adventure, and pure escapism.
Our Take
We think this is fantastic news for so many reasons. Think of all the new jobs! And for families, a whole new place to make memories. The sheer artistry that goes into designing these parks is incredible, from the rides to the smallest details. We are so ready for those opening day queues. Bring on the Butterbeer!
