Doctor Who + Prime Video? Amazon Execs Are Talking, and We’re Buzzing!
- The Doctor’s next adventure?
- Amazon execs spill the tea.
- What this could mean for fans!
- Our take on the whole ‘Who-niverse’ buzz.
Is the TARDIS getting a new parking spot? We just got some super exciting news that’s got us talking! Seriously. You won’t believe it!
It all started at the Edinburgh TV Festival. Remember our piece on the vibe and what was coming next from there? Well, things just got a whole lot more interesting!
Oliver Jones, who’s a big boss for UK shows at Prime Video, was asked a huge question. Could Prime Video become the new international home for Doctor Who? Big. Deal.
His answer? Super chill, but it set everyone’s imagination on fire! He said, “I love Doctor Who.” Which, honestly, already makes him cool in our book. Then he added, “we welcome any conversations around IP.”
Now, “IP” sounds fancy, right? But it just means they’re open to chatting about bringing big, popular shows like Doctor Who to their platform. The whole look and feel of the show, its unique sonic screwdriver aesthetic – it’s all part of that ‘Intellectual Property’ magic!
Imagine the Doctor’s iconic blue box against the sleek, modern Prime Video interface. What a visual mashup! The vibe of a classic show getting a fresh, global platform? It’s pretty electrifying, don’t you think? It has a vibrant, hopeful glow!
This isn’t a done deal, of course. But the fact that Amazon is even talking about it? Major. This could mean a whole new chapter for the Time Lord and their companions. A new universe of possibilities!
Our Take
We think this is a fantastic move! Doctor Who has such a special place in so many hearts. To see it potentially get such a huge, accessible international platform like Prime Video is amazing. It just opens up the universe to even more fans.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed and our sonic screwdrivers ready! Maybe the Doctor will even get to meet Ranveer Singh sometime? (Just kidding, or are we? Check out Ranveer’s recent flick news here!)
