Well, guess what? They’ve picked Rapunzel’s mom! And it’s someone we totally recognize from TV.
Caitríona Balfe, who plays Claire Fraser in ‘Outlander,’ is stepping into the role of Queen Arianna. Think about it: from 18th-century Scotland to the bright, sunny Kingdom of Corona. That’s a vibe shift!
We didn’t see her in the D23 sneak peek footage, but Disney confirmed it. She’ll be playing Rapunzel’s long-lost mom. We’re so excited to see her bring that royal aesthetic to life!
Our Take
We think this is a brilliant casting choice! Caitríona Balfe is such a strong actress, and we can totally picture her as a queen. It makes us even more hyped for this movie. We loved the animated movie, and seeing it brought to life with such great actors is going to be something special.
