- What’s Inside:
- A win for a local director!
- ‘Tropical Paradise’ shines.
- IFF Panama wraps up.
Hey everyone! We just heard some fantastic news coming out of Panama.
Abner Benaim, a director who’s no stranger to the Oscars (he’s been nominated three times!), just bagged the big Audience Award at the IFF Panama festival. His latest documentary, ‘Tropical Paradise,’ really connected with people.
The film’s title itself paints a picture, right? We can only imagine the vibrant colors and the unique ‘vibe’ he captured. Documentaries like these can really transport you, and it sounds like ‘Tropical Paradise’ did just that for the festival audience.
The festival wrapped up on April 12th, and it wasn’t just about the audience awards. They also handed out cash prizes for industry folks, which is always great to see supporting new talent.
Our Take
We’re always thrilled to see filmmakers, especially those from Latin America, getting the recognition they deserve. Abner Benaim has a proven track record, and it’s wonderful that ‘Tropical Paradise’ resonated so strongly. It just goes to show how powerful a good story, told well, can be. We can’t wait to see where this takes him next!
