Riz Ahmed looking intense in a moody cinematic shot

Indie Crush: Riz Ahmed Is ‘Hamlet’, Thriller ‘Exit 8’, ‘The Christophers’, ‘New ‘Faces Of Death’ & BTS – Specialty Preview

Riz Ahmed takes on Hamlet and BTS returns to theaters in a packed weekend for indie movie lovers.

  • Riz Ahmed’s moody new take on Shakespeare.
  • A creepy thriller based on a viral video game.
  • BTS brings the purple vibes back to theaters.

We just saw the lineup for this weekend and it is a total mood. Riz Ahmed is finally bringing his version of Hamlet to us. It looks dark. Gritty. The aesthetic is very noir and high-contrast. We love a classic story with a fresh, artistic lens.

Then there is Exit 8. This thriller is based on that hit video game. Think clean, bright hallways that feel totally wrong. It’s scary but beautiful to look at. This weekend is a win for anyone who loves original stories over big sequels.

Speaking of big stars, things are moving in Bollywood too. Salman Khan just got some relief in a legal case while a new movie leaked online. It is a wild time for the industry. Everyone is watching the headlines closely.

BTS is also back! They have a global livestream concert happening soon. The energy is always electric with them. If you want something more serious, check out the Amy Goodman documentary. It is already selling out screens. It shows a different side of the world through a camera.

We are also keeping an eye on the big parties. Janhvi Kapoor and Ranveer Singh were just at the Ambani bash. The colors and the fashion there were incredible. It is a big contrast to the indie film vibe we are seeing in theaters.

Even behind the scenes, things are changing. The Netherlands Film Fund finally has a new leader. This could mean more cool European films for us to watch later. We are excited to see what they fund next.

Our Take

We think this weekend proves that indie films are the soul of cinema. You don’t need a massive budget to make something that looks stunning. The ‘Exit 8’ vibe is proof of that. We are mostly excited for Riz Ahmed, though. His style is always so raw. It makes you feel every emotion on screen.
