Stop what you are doing, because Project Hail Mary is officially owning the box office! The sci-fi hit just pulled in another $14.6 million on its second Friday, proving it’s 2026’s first true juggernaut. With an expected $53.1 million haul by Sunday, the film is barely breaking a sweat, dropping only 34% from its debut. It is safe to say this one has some serious staying power!
Meanwhile, the new thriller They Will Kill You had a modest start, slicing into the competition with $2.3 million on its opening day. While it’s definitely catching eyes, it’s got a long way to go to keep up with the Hail Mary phenomenon.
Have you caught either of these in theaters yet? Let us know in the comments if Project Hail Mary lives up to the massive hype or if you’re team thriller this weekend. Either way, it’s a great time to be a moviegoer!
