- Why this news is HUGE for stop-motion fans!
You won’t believe the buzz we just heard! Matiss Kaza, the super-talented producer and co-writer behind the Oscar-winning animated hit “Flow,” has a new project.
And it’s a big one. He’s officially joined “Insectarium” (also known as “Indsectario”).
This is the much-awaited first feature film from Mexican stop-motion wizard Sofia Carrillo. We are talking about pure visual magic here.
Carrillo’s films often have a beautiful, almost dream-like aesthetic. They’re visually rich, sometimes a little dark, always captivating. We can just imagine the intricate, earthy colors and textures she’ll bring to life with insects.
Matiss Kaza isn’t just visiting. He’s boarding “Insectarium” as a producer. What a team-up!
He’s not alone. Daniela Mujica’s Productions Ocho, based in Montreal, is also joining the producing team. They are excellent.
And guess what? “Roma” producer Pimienta Films from Mexico is already on board. Plus, Spain’s Inicia. This movie is building an incredible crew.
“Flow” really showed us how powerful stop-motion animation can be. It had such a distinct, quiet beauty. Imagine that kind of genius meeting Carrillo’s unique vision!
