  • Our thoughts on the win.

DocFest News!

Okay, so the Sheffield DocFest just wrapped up. It’s the big deal for nonfiction movies here in the UK. And guess what? A film called ‘Filthy’ (or ‘Sucia – Per què no vas fer res?’ in its original tongue) took home the top prize!

Seriously. The Grand Jury Prize. This is huge. It means the movie, directed by Bàrbara Mestanza and Marc Pujolar, is now automatically in the running for an Oscar. Imagine that!

We haven’t seen the film ourselves yet, but the name ‘Filthy’ just sparks so much curiosity, right? We’re picturing a really raw, maybe even gritty aesthetic. Something that doesn’t shy away from the tough stuff.

Our Take

We love seeing new voices get their moment. It’s fantastic that Sheffield DocFest is highlighting films like ‘Filthy’ and giving them a shot at the big time. A win like this can change everything for filmmakers. We’re rooting for them!
