People Are Paying Rs 3,300 For The Odyssey Tickets And Not Everyone Is Happy

A crowded movie theater with a blue glow from the screen
  • The massive 1.5 lakh ticket sale.
  • Why fans are upset about the price.
  • The film’s moody visual aesthetic.

We just saw the sales numbers for The Odyssey and our jaws dropped. 1.5 lakh tickets. Sold. Already! India is clearly ready for this epic story.

But there is a massive catch. Some tickets are selling for Rs 3,300. That is wild. Fans are absolutely raging about it on social media right now.

It reminds us of the time Kusha Kapila called out that biryani drama. Except this time, the price tag is way more shocking than a plate of food. It is a lot of money for a couple of hours in a dark room.

As art lovers, we have to talk about the vibe of this film. It has this deep, grainy, midnight-blue aesthetic. The trailers look like a moving oil painting. It is stunning. Truly.

Even Christopher Nolan just helped get a big deal for directors. He knows movies are worth a lot. But Rs 3,300 feels like we are buying a piece of fine art instead of a movie seat.

If prices stay this high, we might just stay home. We would rather watch a Maanvi Gagroo spinoff from our couch. It is much easier on the wallet.

Our Take

We love a good cinema experience. But charging this much feels wrong. It makes the movie feel like an exclusive club. Everyone should be able to enjoy the beautiful colors of the big screen without feeling broke.
