We just saw ‘Brown,’ the new ZEE5 series starring Karisma Kapoor. It’s directed by Abhinay Deo and is based on a book called ‘City of Death.’ The show kicks off with a pretty shocking murder.
Right away, you can tell this isn’t your average crime drama. The vibe is super dark and gritty. Think rain-slicked streets and moody lighting. It feels very cinematic, almost like a visual poem of Kolkata’s underbelly. Karisma Kapoor is back, and apparently, her performance is really raw and powerful.
But here’s the thing. While it looks amazing and Karisma is supposed to be brilliant, some reviews are saying the show is a bit too slow. Seven episodes is a good chunk of time, and if it drags, it can be tough to stay hooked. We love a good slow burn, but it needs to build tension, you know?
