You won’t believe what just landed in our inbox! We just heard the first big news for Frameline50’s 2026 festival. And wow, the titles are already making waves. Think bold, think fresh, think totally unforgettable.

Our eyes popped at the names: Gregg Araki’s ‘I Want Your Sex’ is on the list. Remember his iconic, often neon-soaked, rebellious aesthetic? We can already imagine the vibrant, unfiltered vibe this one will bring to the screen.

Then there’s Hayley Kiyoko’s ‘Girls Like Girls.’ Fans of her music video will know the tender, authentic visual storytelling she brings. It’s such a powerful anthem, and we can’t wait to see it shine on the big screen.

Also joining the lineup is Adrian Chiarella’s ‘Leviticus.’ This mix of established and emerging voices is exactly what we love about film festivals. It pushes boundaries, right?

Frameline50 is the San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival. It’s celebrating its big 50th birthday, so you know they’re pulling out all the stops. This festival has always been a beacon for queer cinema, a true artist’s canvas.

Mark your calendars, friends! The festival kicks off on June 17 and runs through June 27. You can catch these amazing films across San Francisco, Berkeley, and Oakland. A whole Bay Area takeover!

Speaking of films and new stories, it makes you think about how we create and share art today. Especially with all the new tech. We recently shared some thoughts on how Cate Blanchett is stepping up to address AI usage in media. It’s a huge conversation for artists.

And not just films, but how we use tech in general. We also covered how Canada is looking at AI copyright rules. It’s all connected to the future of creative works, isn’t it?

Our Take

We are beyond excited for Frameline50. Seriously, it feels like this year is going to be epic. The early titles promise a festival full of raw emotion, stunning visuals, and stories that need to be told.

It’s more than just movies. It’s a celebration. A chance to connect, see new perspectives, and get lost in beautiful art. We’re already planning our festival schedule. See you there!
