Pallichattambi movie review: Tovino Thomas, Kayadu Lohar’s period action drama is a major letdown

Tovino Thomas and Kayadu Lohar’s new period action drama, Pallichattambi, is getting some harsh reviews, and we’re sharing what critics are saying.

  • Tovino Thomas and Kayadu Lohar’s latest
  • Why this period drama fell flat
  • Our honest take

We just saw the early reviews for Tovino Thomas and Kayadu Lohar’s new movie, Pallichattambi. This period action drama was supposed to be a big deal. Big expectations.

But honestly? It’s hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons. A major letdown, according to critics.

The vibe, the whole aesthetic of a period film, usually pulls you right in. Think sweeping visuals, amazing costumes. But it seems Pallichattambi just couldn’t land that punch, sadly.

While everyone’s buzzing about cricket or looking up news about Infosys, this movie needed to create its own kind of buzz. The good kind! It’s a tough world out there for films.

Speaking of tough worlds, it reminds us how tricky the film industry can be. Even legends like Rajesh Khanna faced real struggles, which turned him to alcohol, while Amitabh Bachchan navigated them with such grace. (Read more on that here!)

So many stories. So much pressure.

We’re always rooting for new talent and exciting projects. We’re crossing our fingers that Ahaan Panday’s reunion with Mohit Suri after Saiyaara’s grand success brings more magic than this film did. (Get the scoop!)

Fresh starts are everything.

Even big stars from global hits sometimes try new things, like Kate Mulgrew from ‘Star Trek’ leading a new RTÉ series called ‘The Yank’. (Check it out!) It just goes to show, every project is a gamble.

Our Take

We’re genuinely bummed about Pallichattambi. With Tovino Thomas and Kayadu Lohar, we expected a real spectacle, especially from a period action drama.

It sounds like the visual flair just wasn’t enough to carry the story. A missed opportunity, for sure. Better luck next time, team!
