Award Winners Unveiled
We just heard the exciting news from Seattle! The Tasveer Film Festival just wrapped up its 21st year. And wow, did they give out some amazing awards.
This festival celebrates films that tell incredible stories. It’s always a treat to see what they highlight.
‘Mayilaa’ Steals the Show
Get this: ‘Mayilaa’ took home the big Jury Award for Best Feature Narrative! Directed by Semmalar Annam, it sounds like a real heart-tugger.
The movie stars P. Melody Dorcas, Geetha Kailasam, Shudar Kodi, and Sathya Maruthani. It’s all about a mother and daughter. Imagine a new saleswoman trying to figure things out. The vibe must be so relatable and real.
‘The Gymnasts Of Fisherman Colony’ Shines
And that’s not all! ‘The Gymnasts Of Fisherman Colony’ also got some love. We’re guessing it has a fantastic visual aesthetic, showing the spirit of these young athletes.
It’s so cool to see films like these get the recognition they deserve. Stories from different places, told beautifully.
Our Take
We love seeing indie film festivals like Tasveer shine. They give us a chance to discover films we might otherwise miss. It’s all about finding those hidden gems with powerful stories and amazing artistry. Great job to all the filmmakers!
