Nayyi Navelli Review: Yami Gautam’s Folk Tale Starts Strong, But Then… Whoops!
- Yami Gautam’s latest, “Nayyi Navelli.”
- A peek into its folklore world.
- Our honest, non-spoiler thoughts!
We just saw Yami Gautam’s new film, “Nayyi Navelli”! You know how much we love a good story. Especially one dipped in old-school folklore.
This film really pulled us in at first. The way they built the world? So captivating. The colors, the atmosphere – it had a really mystical, almost dreamy vibe. You could feel the ancient tales woven into every frame.
Yami Gautam herself? She’s quite good. She really tries to bring her character to life amidst this unique setting. We were pretty invested in her journey.
The first half, honestly, flew by. It was entertaining, intriguing, and kept us guessing. We were totally on board, thinking this was going to be a real hidden gem.
But then. Oh dear. The second half happened. It just… faltered. The story seemed to lose its way a bit. The strong narrative threads from before started unraveling.
It felt like a different film sometimes. The magic kind of faded. We kept wishing it would pick up again, but it struggled to find its footing after a promising start.
While “Nayyi Navelli” had its ups and downs, there’s always something new to look forward to! We’re also tracking how Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Prahaar X’ did at the box office. And guess what? We are SO ready for Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a Delhi Street Detective! That sounds like a must-watch.
Our Take
So, “Nayyi Navelli” is a bit of a mixed bag. It has fantastic moments. The folklore setting is beautifully done, and Yami gives a solid performance. But it can’t quite keep that initial energy going. It’s entertaining in parts, definitely, but don’t go in expecting a flawless ride all the way through.
