Helen Mirren as a ‘Great Jerk’? Anton Corbijn Spills on Highsmith Role!
- Who is Patricia Highsmith?
- Helen Mirren takes on a tough role!
- What the director really thinks.
You won’t believe what director Anton Corbijn just said about Helen Mirren’s latest role!
He’s directing her in “A Talent for Murder.” She plays the controversial writer Patricia Highsmith. And Corbijn? He called her a “great jerk!”
Highsmith wasn’t just any writer. She’s the brain behind Tom Ripley, everyone’s favorite psychopath. Think dark, twisty stories. A certain moody aesthetic.
But Highsmith herself? Oh, she was a piece of work. She got really famous for some truly awful antisemitic and misanthropic comments. Not a fan of people, it seems.
Corbijn even said she was “much worse” than what they show in the movie. Wow. That really sets a tone, doesn’t it?
It makes us wonder how Helen Mirren brings that difficult energy to life. She’s a legend, and tackling such a complex, unlikeable person? That takes serious talent. It’s almost as big a deal as Sidharth Malhotra & Tamannaah Bhatia’s ‘The Vvaan’ hitting 50 Crores!
Our Take
We are SO ready for this film. Helen Mirren playing someone described as a “great jerk” is pure gold. We can practically see the icy stares and sharp words. It’s definitely going to be a must-watch, maybe even bigger than Celebrity Traitors launching to nearly 9 million viewers! We’re curious to see how Corbijn captures the dark, unsettling vibe of Highsmith’s world. This movie feels like it could be a real hit, just like everyone’s hoping Drishyam 3 hits 100 Crores on Day 1. We can’t wait to grab our popcorn!
