Uh Oh! Smoke Over the Getty Center Area
- What’s Inside:
- A fire near the Getty Center.
- Smoke seen far and wide.
- What we’re thinking.
We just saw some unsettling news. Smoke was rising over the hills near the Getty Center this afternoon. It definitely caught our eye!
The fire started a bit after 4 p.m. in Brentwood. It wasn’t huge at first, just about five acres. But you know how these things can spread.
First responders were on the scene super fast. More help is being brought in. We’re hoping they get it under control quickly. The whole vibe of the afternoon changed with that plume of smoke – a really stark, almost dramatic contrast against the usual sunny L.A. sky.
Our Take
Honestly, fires are never good news, especially when they’re this close to something so iconic. We’re sending all our good thoughts to the firefighters and hoping everyone stays safe. It’s a reminder of how quickly things can change, even in a place that feels so permanent.
