Finally. We just saw the first reactions to the Practical Magic sequel. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are officially back as the Owens sisters. We have waited nearly three decades for this moment! It is a lot of pressure for one movie.
The vibe has changed. It feels different. The original was moody and earthy. This new one feels a bit more like a Harry Potter movie. There is more action. The magic feels a bit more like CGI than the old-school spells we loved.
As art students, we look at the colors. The aesthetic is still very cozy. Deep greens. Warm candlelight. It looks beautiful on the big screen. Even if it lacks some of the original soul, it is still a treat for the eyes.

We missed the raw feeling of the first movie. It felt real. This one is very polished. But seeing Sandra and Nicole together again is worth it. It is like a warm hug from an old friend. Go see it for the nostalgia!
