Astronauts splashing down in the ocean.

Artemis II Crew Successfully Splashes Down Off San Diego Coast

The Artemis II crew has safely returned to Earth after their historic trip around the moon, splashing down off the San Diego coast.

  • What’s Inside: The Artemis II crew is home! Their moon journey was a success. See what happened next.

We just saw some awesome news! The Artemis II crew is back. Safe and sound.

They spent 10 days traveling all the way around the moon. Imagine that! The world has been watching.

Yesterday, their spacecraft, named Integrity, returned to Earth. It splashed down gently in the ocean. Right off the coast of San Diego. The timing was just after 5 pm Pacific Time.

Everyone is calling it a “textbook entry.” That’s good news for the astronauts: Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen. (And the fourth crew member too, whose name wasn’t in this little bit of info we saw!).

Think about the colors! The deep blue ocean. The white foam as the capsule landed. The bright orange suits the astronauts might wear. It’s a whole visual story, isn’t it?

Our Take

We’re so happy the Artemis II crew made it back safely. It’s a huge step for space exploration. Seeing humans go so far is just inspiring. It reminds us of what we can achieve when we push our limits. Like how we pushed ourselves to get BuzzMedia Times going!
